Desert landscape of Bryce Canyon National Park

Description

Golden desert landscape of Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. Bryce Canyon National Park is located in southwestern Utah in the United States. The reason for the designation as a national park is the protection of the colored rock pyramids, the so-called hoodoos, at the break-off edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. This break-off is predominantly non-linear. Instead, open, semicircular rock basins have eroded into the plateau to the east, which the National Park Service describes as "natural amphitheaters." The largest of these amphitheaters is Bryce Canyon, which is incorrectly referred to as a canyon.
